Spooktacular 2011 – A Halloween To Remember
We had an amazing Spooktacular this year, with over 500 people coming along over the three nights – our highest ever turnout – beating last year’s previous best of 439!
The fun started in the car park, with patients jumping out from the shadows as guests arrived. They were then ushered into the Halloween-themed Great Hall before being invited to jump aboard a truck to uncover the truth about The Asylum!
Actors from the Birmingham Theatre School gave our storyline the flesh and bones (see what we did there?) it needed to be a great night out and they did a truly fantastic job, acting out the crazy doctor’s techniques in his terrifying treatment rooms!
Back in the Great Hall, a three-course carvery was followed by Halloween games ranging from apple bobbing to the electric chair and champagne was awarded to guests with the best fancy dress.
With so much invested in special effects, decorations and actors, our aim was to make this Spooktacular our best ever – and we achieved just that!
Feedback so far has included “your frightfest extravaganza was fantastic!!”, “totally surpassed my expectations” and “it’s certainly a must for next year”.
With Halloween becoming more and more popular, we’ve established a great reputation for making sure everyone has a Halloween to remember! We’re already starting to plan next year’s event, and if you’ve got any suggestions to what theme we should use, add your comments to this blog post!
If you came to this year’s event, share your feedback and photos on our Facebook wall!
